Roll Compactor Roll Assembly Rebuild and Refurbishment

Summary

Rebuild services were provided for a mining chemical producer in the western United States operating a roll compaction system used to produce briquetted sodium cyanide for downstream handling and transportation.

As part of the plant’s preventative maintenance program, the customer removed the installed roll assemblies during a scheduled outage, installed a set of spares, and shipped the removed assemblies to Bepex for inspection and refurbishment.

Upon receipt, the roll assemblies were fully disassembled and inspected. Key components—including roll bodies, bearings, seals, shaft assemblies, and pocket surfaces—were evaluated to determine the extent of refurbishment required. A detailed rebuild proposal was provided outlining recommended replacement parts and repair work.

Following customer approval, the assemblies were rebuilt with new wear components and required machining work to restore them to specification. The refurbished assemblies were returned to the site and placed into spare inventory, supporting a rotating rebuild program that minimizes downtime during future maintenance events.
