Roll Compactor Field Support

Field service support was provided at a chemical processing facility in Nevada to assist with the rebuild of a Bepex MS-150 roll compaction system used for producing sodium cyanide briquettes.
The scope of work included removal of existing roll assemblies, inspection of the compaction frame and support components, installation of rebuilt roll assemblies, and reassembly of the hydraulic and drive systems.
During the service visit, the team identified several maintenance concerns, including material buildup within the hopper and compaction area, insufficient lubrication on guide rails and blocks, and the use of a grease that did not flow well through the lubrication system. Rails were cleaned and relubricated per Bepex recommendations to ensure proper movement of the roll assemblies.
Reinstallation work included verification of proper roll pocket orientation and timing, installation of hydraulic cylinders, adjustment of roll gaps, and installation of a new feeder drive assembly.
Following completion of the rebuild and system checks, the compactor returned to operation and has successfully processed over 100 tons of material at production rates without reported issues.
