Our feed additive processing systems are used to produce various final product grades:

Our process systems for feed additives are industry proven. The PCX dispersion dryer not only offers efficient drying, but provides premilling of filter cakes, slurries or even solutions. This results in the generation of a usable powder material directly from the dryer but also results in less energy consumption downstream if subsequent milling is needed. The Bepex Pulvocron is an air swept pulverizer with internal classification if control of the final product size is important. The Pulvocron system can function for both drying and milling. Depending on application requirements both the PCX and Pulvocron can offer a smart alternative to spray drying, in terms of total cost of ownership and installation costs.
In other instances, solvent removal and solvent recovery might be the issue. Bepex indirect dryers and coolers rely on heat energy reaching the product through heated surfaces. Indirect heat transfer results in the need for far less sweep gas than a direct system meaning less gas treatment. Indirect options include the Bepex Solidaire, which uses a heated cylindrical vessel with a paddle rotor and the Torus Disc, which is a paddle dryer that uses a heated vessel along with a hollow disc rotor. The Bepex Thermascrew is an indirect heating system that most often used for cooling the material prior to packaging or other downstream processes.
If your application calls for a reaction between your raw material components Bepex offers different technology. Whether batch, semi-batch or continuous, Bepex has the answer. Batch or semi-batch systems are well suited to reactions requiring extended time. Continuous paddle mixers or dryers allow for near instantaneous reactions, often with granule formation. The Bepex Hydramix offers controlled mixing in a batch system but can also be run continuously. The Bepex FlexTurbulizer provides instant mixing for quick reactions and the Solidaire provides extended reaction time with temperature control.
Granulation serves to produce dust free particles of controlled size and shape. Bepex has several options and the choice of system is decided by the physical requirements of the final product. Bepex MS Series roll compactors are deployed around the world and have reliably achieved these material properties for decades. Because of the high pressures involved, hard, dense granules are produced, often without the need for binders or other unwanted additions to the feed additive. Through a simple change of screens and milling conditions, the final particle size is controlled or adjusted as needed.
In wet granulation systems, dry solids are mixed with moisture in a turbulent environment, as created in the Bepex Turbulizer and FlexTurbulizer, to grow granules. Fluid bed drying provides drying and final product conditioning. These devices are excellent mixers as well, particularly when the application calls for the addition of small amounts of liquid to the solid. The FlexTurb is self-cleaning, allowing for processing of sticky materials that would otherwise cause build-up and impact the overall process throughput.
